Methodist Dallas Medical Center designed their joint replacement program, called The Methodist Joint Academy, around the patient journey to include a spectrum of preparation, orientation, treatment options, and follow-up care. The team then underwent a rigorous on-site survey with a team of Joint Commission expert surveyors evaluating the hospital's programs for compliance with standards of care specific to the needs of patients and families, and received certification for disease-specific care in hip and knee replacement.

Michelle Rogers is the Spine Coordinator and former Joint Coordinator for Methodist Dallas Medical Center. As a coordinator her duties include patient pre-operative education, coordination between the physicians and hospital, patient rounding, nurse education, and management of the Joint Commission certification compliance. Before becoming a registered nurse, Michelle was a Radiologic Technologist for 15 years. Her nursing background includes surgical, ICU, PACU and orthopedics.
