A new survey shows that three quarters of the coastline in Australia found the garbage, are plastic, while wild animals are likely to be wrapped around the garbage, or ingestion of garbage, resulting in serious consequences.
According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported that the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) researchers to investigate the Australian intervals per 100 km long coastline, a collection of the world's largest marine debris data. CSIRO researchers Dennis • Bernhard Ortiz said: "Three-quarters of the coastline near the garbage is plastic, most of which does not come from the high seas, but from the Australian mainland, mainly in the vicinity of the city."
The report is part of a three-year survey of marine debris and educational projects by Earthwatch Australia co-sponsored with the CSIRO and Shell Oil. The survey found that pollution is mainly for two reasons: littering and illegal dumping.
Found trash, including glass and plastic bottles, cans, bags, balloons, rubber parts, metal, fiberglass, fishing equipment, as well as people discarded or lost to the sea at the beach or other items. Survey found that not only can cause marine debris sailing accident, and will make coral suffocation, the introduction of invasive species, harm tourism and killing wildlife. How to recycling bottles, here is a wonderful website may give a good solution, http://www.intcorecycling.com it has Poseidon series good to dewater pet bottles and compact them, reduce the volume.
It is reported that the turtles will soft transparent plastic mistaken for edible jellyfish, about one third of the world's sea turtles die from ingestion of plastic, and that number continues to increase since the 1950s, began to produce plastics. Birds will eat almost anything, 43 percent surveyed in the abdomen of birds are found in plastics. Projections indicate that a total of 2050 kinds of birds, there may be 95% of ingested plastic. In addition, chemical substances contained in waste will penetrate into the marine ecosystem, indirectly cause harm to wildlife.
