Multimedia Arts School-CIITs Summer Courses to Try This 2015

Let your kids learn and enjoy their school break with CIIT’s summer workshops. This multimedia arts school in the Philippines offers fun and educational courses that will hone the creative talents and skills of your kids.

The workshops are open to all grade school and high school students who wish to learn the basics of 3D animation character design and 2D game design. Interested applicants will have to finish eight sessions, with each session lasting for three hours. Besides in-depth and hands-on training, successful participants will get a certificate of completion, handouts, and a chance to tour Anino PlayLab, the country’s leading game developer and publisher.

1. 3D Animation Character Design

Software: AutoDesk 3D Studio Max 2010 and Adobe Photoshop CS5
Sessions: Total of 24 Hours | 3 Hours per Session | 8 Sessions

Day 1 3Ds Max 2010 basic modeling tools and shortcuts
Day 2 Character modeling
Day 3 Basic texturing/UV mapping
Day 4 Texturing in Photoshop
Day 5 Basic bone setup
Day 6 Skinning and posing

Day 9 Tour in Anino Playlab (Optional)

2. 2D Game Design

Software: Unity 3D

Day 1 Designing a character and creating a map/level
Day 2 Creating events and encounters
Day 3 Adding goals, defining game objectives and mechanics
Day 4 Expanding the database (adding items, characters, monsters)
Day 5 Improving storytelling and character dialogue
Day 6 Introduction to the Ruby programming language
Day 7 Creating new scripts and utilizing 3rd-party scripts
Day 8 Bug checking, fixing, and distribution
Day 9 Tour in Anino Playlab (Optional)
