Oxnard’s premier fashion, dining and entertainment destination announces its bustling line-up of holiday events to keep the season merry and bright through the end of the year.

'Tis the season for joy, laughter and a bevy of family-friendly holiday festivities at The Collection at RiverPark. Oxnard’s premier fashion, dining and entertainment destination announces its bustling line-up of holiday events to keep the season merry and bright through the end of the year.

The Collection’s holiday season will commence on Saturday, Nov. 19, with the annual Tree Lighting Celebration, and will continue with beloved community favorites, such as the CAN-tree food drive, and introduce new traditions like Silent Santa.

Also to accommodate the busy shopping season and the year forthcoming, The Collection will begin to offer valet parking for $6 per vehicle at Park View Court on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 p.m. until 1 a.m., and Sundays from 6 – 10 p.m.

“Bringing the community together to share memories to last a lifetime is at the heart of what we do here,” said Stefanie Muegel, Marketing Manager for The Collection. “The holiday season is anticipated to be a busy time for our center, so we are excited to be able to host a variety of seasonal events we know will guests love.”

The Collection Holiday Events Calendar:

Tree Lighting Celebration & Santa’s Arrival
Date: Saturday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m.
Event Description:  A beautifully lit tree is always the official mark of the holiday season at Oxnard’s premier shopping center. The Collection will host thousands of guests at its community-favorite annual Tree Lighting Celebration. Taking place in Collection Park, event-goers will be treated to an evening of holiday music with a live performance by Stone Soul, leading up to the celebratory Tree Lighting ceremony, followed with a laser light show and fireworks display to cap off the evening.

 Photos with Santa

Date: Nov. 19 – Dec. 24

Event Description:  Bring the whole family down to The Collection for your annual holiday photos!  Visit Santa at his house at the Splash Pad on Town Center Drive, Mondays – Thursdays from 3 – 8 p.m.; Fridays – Sundays from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. 

Note: Open for Santa’s arrival on Nov. 19, from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Closed on Thanksgiving. Open Dec. 24, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Santa will occasionally be unavailable for photos when attending events.

 Black Friday

Date: Friday, Nov. 25, 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Event Description: Shop at The Collection on Black Friday for your chance to receive a “cozy” VIP gift. For every $1,000 spent, guests can redeem same-day receipts at Guest Services to receive a $20 Collection gift card, a Collection winter blanket and hot cocoa kit. Additionally, one lucky winner will receive a $500 shopping spree at The Container Store.

Note: Target receipts are not included.

 Silent Santa

Dates: Monday, Nov. 28
Event Description: The Collection at RiverPark will hold its first “Silent Santa” event, welcoming children of all ages with Autism, hearing impairment, or other special needs to experience a private visit with Santa. Children and their families will be treated to a quiet and calm experience without crowds, music, jingle bells or additional stimulation. Families will be able to spend quality time with Santa and have their photo taken for memories that will last a lifetime.

 Passport to Winter Fashion

Date: Thursday, Dec. 1, from 6-9 p.m.

Event Description: The Collection’s new take on a Ladies Night Out event returns for Passport to Winter Fashion when guests are treated to a winter fashion and seasonal tasting experience. Participating restaurants and stores will be listed on a Passport card where guests can visit at their leisure for exclusive giveaways, activities and promotions. Space for the event is limited and guests are required to RSVP in advance at www.TheCollectionRP.com.

 MAC Cosmetics Grand Opening

Date: Friday, Dec. 2

Event Description: MAC Cosmetics, the world-renowned brand revered for its quality make-up line, high-profile collaborations and exclusive collections, will officially open its doors with a grand opening event on Dec. 2. To celebrate the high-end make-up store’s debut at The Collection, the first 100 guests in line will receive a Collection make-up bag with a mystery gift card valued between $20 and $100.

 CAN-Tree Collection

Date: Friday, Dec. 2 – Sunday, Dec. 4
Event Description:  The Collection, in partnership with Ventura County’s FOOD Share and Cumulus Media, is hosting the CAN-tree Collection holiday food drive Friday, Dec. 2 – Sunday, Dec. 4. The CAN-tree Collection is one of Southern California’s most popular holiday charity events, and will feature 300 holiday trees made from donated canned food items, and two giant holiday trees each made from 10,000 canned goods.  The Collection guests and shoppers can participate in the magic by bringing cash or canned donations to contribute to a holiday tree. 

 Santa Paws Pet Photo Nights

Date: Wednesdays, Dec. 7, Dec. 14 and Dec. 21, from 6 – 8 p.m.

Event Description:  Furry family members need photos with Santa, too!  Pets of all sizes are invited to visit Santa’s house at the Splash Pad on Town Center Drive.

 Merry Makers Artisan Faire

Date: Saturday, Dec. 10 & Sunday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Event Description: Join more than 40 fine artisan vendors as they transform The Collection’s Park View Court into a festive holiday display showcasing an array of seasonal handcrafted art pieces.  Breakfast with Santa

Date: Saturday, Dec. 10 and Saturday, Dec. 17

Location: Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar

Event Description: The Collection and Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar are hosting two Breakfast with Santa events on Saturday, Dec. 10, and Saturday Dec. 17, at 8 a.m. Join us for a festive morning of delicious food, fun, and photos with Santa!  Tickets are $15 each. Space for the event is limited and guests are required to purchase tickets in advance at www.TheCollectionRP.com.
