Running Windows on a MacBook has just gotten easier. The Micro SSD from MICRODIA is the world’s first and smallest (38 x 73 x 9.5 mm) external SSD for the MacBook 2015. It comes with the WTG application and a USB Type-C cable that lets users connect
USA, May 26, 2015 – MICRODIA Ltd. (MICRODIA) launched the world’s first external micro SSD for the latest MacBook 2015 in the Spring edition of the Hong Kong Electronics Fair 2015 (13 – 16 April 2015). The USB cable that comes with the Micro SSD allows users to connect it to the MacBook’s USB Type-C port.
The MacBook launched on 10 April 2015. Just days later, the Micro SSD debuted. The external micro solid state drive (Micro SSD) has a frosted-metallic finish that offers a sauve feel to the product, while its dimensions are smaller than a MacBook's touchpad. However, it provides the functionality of a full desktop.
The MICRO SSD's minute size incorporates the Windows-to-Go (WTG) application. Its “plug ‘n’ use” design allows users to immediately implement the Micro SSD’s features and functions. Blistering data transfer speeds of 400MBps or more (transfers a 27GB file in 2.5 minutes) and up to 1TB of flash memory capacity make the Micro SSD ultra-portable and ideal for running Windows on the MacBook as needed.
“We are very excited to be able to offer the world’s smallest Micro SSD to consumers,” said Mr. Louis Leung, CEO of MICRODIA Ltd. “It is a result of innovation, research, development and boundless energy: function, design and excellence combine and are exemplified in the Micro SSD.”
The Micro SSD measures 38 mm (W) x 73 mm (L) x 9.5 mm (H), and weighs only 58g. Capacities offered start at 64GB, and include 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. The Micro SSD is available in 2015 and comes in Silver, Gold and Gray.
