We have had a brief instruction of Buddy Pokemon before. This time, the update for Pokemon GO version 0.37.0 for Android and 1.7.0 for iOS has implemented that all trainers will be able to choose one of their Pokemon to be their buddy. A trainer can earn Candy for their Buddy Pokemon by walking a certain distance.
The picture on the right is the Buddy Candy chart from Silph Road, which would be a reference to you.
In addition to the distance you need to walk for a Buddy Candy, you should not forget the distance to get the evolution. For example, Magikarp is at 1km in that chart, but to get that evolution, you have to walk 400km.

Other updates for Pokemon GO
