Atlanta, GA, August 26, 2016 /PressReleasePing/ -- In an effort to raise dog safety awareness, Dog Walker Atlanta is encouraging Atlanta’s pet owners to celebrate National Dog Day with a day of safe and fun-filled activities. This year this special holiday falls on Friday, August 26, 2016. Dog Day is an annual celebration organized by Colleen Paige, the Pet & Family Lifestyle Expert and Animal Advocate since 2004. It embraces man’s best friends, no matters their breed, color, size, origin or age.
The celebration takes place everywhere, as long as there is somebody with a dog to care. Here are some tips for the dog’s friends across the country that will give some ideas on how to celebrate this particular day. But don’t limit it to one day, if you have a dog buddy, you can do most of these activities on a daily basis.
1 - Practice Safe Exercise to Ensure Your Pet’s Good Health
Not only in the National Dog Day, but every day encourage your pet to exercise. Dogs are meant to live an active life, but most pets rarely get any opportunity to do regular tasks to help them exercise. Having a yard is not enough. Your dog is not aware of the importance of exercise. Most likely if you only have one dog, it will not do much exercise unless you go out and play with him. Having a companion is good advice because they most likely will play together.
Take some time out of your schedule to spend it with your dog. Get outside and play. Go to a park, or simply take a walk around your neighborhood. You will find countless benefits if you do this on a regular basis.
2 - Take Your Furry Friend Shopping
Shopping is not enjoyable for people only. You can have a great time at the pet shop looking for new gear for your dog friend. Not all dogs enjoy wearing clothes, so be careful on those, but most of them are going to appreciate a new teething toy. Ask your dog before you buy it. At times, cute for you will not be entertaining for him.
3 - Reward Your Pooch with a Tasty Treat
Give your dog his favorite tasty treats. He surely has a favorite. If you want to make it even more special, then cook it for him. There are lots of dogs treat recipe ideas online to make it a healthy and delicious snack.
4 - Take Your Dog for a Nice Walk
Your dog most likely knows when you are about to take him for a walk. He loves it. Do it in a special way on this day. Get him to the place he enjoys the most. Look for a new spot to walk your dog. Explore!
Oh, and if your schedule is already looking packed this Friday, hire a dog walking service in Atlanta and they can walk Spot for you.
5 - Treat Fido to a Day of Pampering
Some dogs like humans also love to spend a day in a spa. There are many options around. You will get a clean, happy and relaxed pet once they are done with him.
A spokesperson for Lovely Leads , who handles Dog Walker Atlanta's Atlanta website design, SEO, and web strategy says, "as a pet owner 'myself', I look forward to putting these tips to work on National Dog Day."
