Amy Binkley, BSN, has been named chief nursing officer of Star Medical Center, a surgical hospital in Plano, Texas. Prior to her new role, Binkley served as the hospital’s acute care director, where she was responsible for the inpatient unit and emergency room, as well as employee health and employee education. Binkley’s career prior to Star Medical Center included medical/surgical nursing, recovery room nursing and emergency medicine.
“Amy has proven herself many times over as a compassionate caregiver, leader and true nurse professional,” said Mark Kennedy, Star Medical Center CEO. “She’s constantly addressing the needs of the hospital, our patients and our employees. While conducting the search to fill the CNO position, we kept coming back to the very positive standard Amy had already established. Currently pursuing her master’s degree in nursing, Binkley is excited about her new role. “I see Star Medical Center becoming one of the top surgical facilities in the DFW area.
