The largest pull of skilled labour to the UK is through the university system i.e. Tier 4 application. The United Kingdom boasts of some of the best tertiary institutions in the world and attracts some of the best talents from different parts of the world.
The largest portion of university students in the UK are mostly immigrants, and the higher it goes up to Ph.D level we find less British nationals enrolling in these courses. The question that this raises for British businesses is that where they need a very skilled labour, the most likely viable option is the Tier 2 visa route.
